Reverberation is a sound phenomenon that is produced by the continuous reflection of sound. In a larger space, sound can continue to resonate for quite a long time in a more or less uniform manner. Reverberation can be a nuisance, especially in spaces where large, hard surfaces in materials such as glass, polished concrete and metal are used a lot.
Fortunately, you can reduce reverberation and improve the acoustics of rooms. For example, using curtain fabrics with a high degree of sound absorption helps a lot. Fabrics are tested in a reverberation room to see how well they reduce sound. This sometimes produces remarkable differences.
The way in which they are used and set up in the room can also make a difference. Don’t choose carelessly, but get advice from fasset.
Very efficient is the covering of walls and/or ceilings with sound-absorbing material. This can be finished with a decorative stretched fabric. When used correctly, sound-absorbing material ensures a strong improvement of the acoustic comfort.
